Florence has been a singing since before she could talk, performing throughout her school life. Her professional career started at the age of 18 when she was bought her first guitar and began writing and performing around Bristol as solo artist Florence Pardoe (her real name), soon being scouted to join a 9-piece funk band.
After a busy few years of playing the Bristol circuit Florence moved to Australia where she continued to grow as a musician, picking up residencies in bars and restaurants and forming bands in Byron Bay, Cairns and Melbourne. In both Melbourne and Cairns she formed cover acts and performed at functions, hotels and bars regularly.
Since returning to Bristol Florence has been focusing her energies on two new projects; The Bare Souls, a blues based rock and roll band performing her own material (search Facebook for The Bare Souls), and the Florence Fitzgerald band. Bristol has a wealth of musicians, and Florence has found some of the most talented and experienced to work with her.
Florence Fitzgerald is inspired by a love for the music of the greats of soul, blues and jazz; Etta James, Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers, Ella Fitzgerald and so many more. With so many function bands playing the same offerings Florence wanted to craft a set list that would be sure to offer plenty of well-loved songs, as well as fantastic lesser-known songs, without a GaGa or Get Lucky in site, to appeal to those with a more classic taste.
